Be Grateful for a 9-5 Job

Face it, if you’re working 9-5 Monday-Friday, you are described as having “banker’s hours”. You will sometimes get ridiculed by your friends and family for it, but is it because of jealously? Most likely it is. Here is why you should be grateful for a 9-5 job:

1. Having every weekend off. There are many business such as food and clothing who are open on the weekends. These places rely on the 9-5 workers to come in on the weekend and generate business. Many festivals and events happen on the weekend too.

2. More time with your loved ones. I have two family members myself who fit the banker’s hours role. Spending time with family and significant others is always a good reason for anything.

3. You have a set schedule. You are working for someone else, but at least you know when you’re going to be done for the day. Therefore, you can make plans easier.

Let’s cut to the chase.  No one likes being unprepared for a meeting.  So why go through with it?  Technology is absolutely blowing up and is increasing by the minute.  We’re in the age where if you don’t have a cell phone or a tablet, you are a major dinosaur.  I was watching Family Feud just a few minutes ago, and it inspired me to create this blog.  Here we go…

The Weekly Friday Blog is out!

“Freaky Friday” with Lindsay Lohan (when she was a young innocent aspiring actress) and Jamie Lee Curtis – remember that movie? Just in case you don’t, the main theme of the movie, is a mother and daughter end up switching bodies and personalities while eating a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant.

If you had the opportunity to switch bodies and personalities with one person, who would it be? You tell me which person you’d switch with, and I’ll tell you my person later in the day.

Hang in there peeps, the week is almost over! I took a promotion at my current job, which allows me more weekends off, so I am excited even more that it is Friday!

Good Day Everyone!  I am back on the social media networks!  Social media is currently a part-time gig to supplement my income.  With my most recent rummage sale and my full-time job, I’ve been away for a little bit.

Today, I want to give a shout out to the workforce.  Do you like your job?  Whether you do or not, there has to be a few reasons why you like your job,  Feel free to comment and tell me about it.  I’ll give you reasons why I like my job:  the employees, I get to watch TV every single day, and the positive attitude from our owners.

If you have seen the movie, “Office Space”, continue reading. If you haven’t seen it, watch the 1st 15 minutes, and come back to this blog. I have to rank it as one of my 10 most favorite movies of all time. Remember Peter Gibbons’ many bosses, including Bill Lumbergh? If Peter would make a mistake, eight different people would talk to him about it. Sounds like a case of the Mondays! “Accounts Payable Nina speaking. Just a moment.”

Whether we work weekends or not, I’m sure most of us have experienced a different mood on Mondays. It’s just something about Monday, that brings our bad side out. You could have the most positive attitude ever, and you would have a case of the Mondays. Just that anticipation of coming back to work after a weekend gets the best of us.

They Don’t Teach You the Real World

For those of you who haven’t experienced the workforce, I have two interesting articles that you should read. Before you read these blogs, one thing you should know about me is I am a perfectionist. No one in my family has this strive for perfection like I do, and I feel it is more a positive trait than a negative.

For four months I have been working at a company that specializes in furniture, appliances and electronics. I worked at our sister Ashley Furniture Store for two months, selling Ashley product. I am currently working in the electronics department for two months. Yesterday, our furniture department had a mattress training session. Shortly after it began, I was told very kindly by my office manager to help out in furniture and mattresses, during the training session. I obviously agreed and did my best. I was never given any training on our brands of furniture and mattresses, so more than likely I would be bothering a furniture salesman, taking them away from their mattress training. I have two months experience selling Ashley Furniture, that’s all.
